The statement added that Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has been told that the decision in this regard has been taken a week ago and the High courts registrars have been asked to give the names of those to be listed in the judicial commission.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Governor Punjab Mr Salman Taseer had written a letter to the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan wherein a request was made to constitute a special judicial commission to probe the matter related to the alleged plot to target the life of Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad in his reply to the letter written by Governor Punjab has informed to approach Federal Government regarding formation of commission to probe into the Justice Khawaja Sharif’ assassination plot.
