According to reports the cause of death is suicide based on the gun wound that appeared to be self-inflicted, but the investigation is still on going.
The police are still waiting for evidence and has not made an official statement yet. Authorities are investigating on what can be the reason of his suicide. Being out of the game after a severe knee injury might be one.
The incident attracts attention due to the series of tragedies the Broncos has experienced these years including the death of cornerback Darrent Williams who was shot in 2007.
