Popular 103 Jamz radio host DJ Law died

Latest News Up Date About:WOWI-FM 102.9 also known as 103 Jamz announced Sunday that longtime popular radio host Lawrence “Cool DJ Law” Brown had passed away. He was 40-years-old. Brown was a popular staple of the Boodah Brothers Morning Radio Show.

Brown is the second disc jockey to pass away from the morning radio show in recent years. In 2007, Shawn “Mic Lord” Austin died suddenly.

A 2004 Daily Press report says that Brown had worked as a dee-jay in the Hampton Roads area before coming to the airwaves. In 2004 Brown along with co-host Horace ” Big B ” Belcher moved to the morning slot on the station. Brown was a graduate of Denbigh High School and lived in Newport News.

The radio station’s Facebook page had received several hundred posts from listeners extending condolences to Brown’s family. A link was posted to the Boyz II Men song “It’s so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”
