Footage made by Dunya News reported has exposed the brutality of killers and police. When the Supreme Court took the suo moto notice of the incident on August 20, SHO Rana Ilyas was arrested but he along with four policemen fled after two days. In its second hearing of the case, the SC ordered to arrest the culprit and present him before the court on September 6. Rana Ilyas was reportedly fled to Sargodha and then he reached Narowal. Police raided Narowal but the SHO escaped.
