Season 3 opened up Cameron Hayes (Jamie McShane) on the run with Abel. Then we were slowly introduced to Fr. Kellan Ashby (James Cosmo) and the greater Irish Republican Army. After making the decision to kill Hayes, there was little reason to keep Abel, but Fr. Ashby’s full plan wasn’t revealed until now. Jimmy wants to continue relations with Clay’s (Ron Perlman) charter and return Abel to his father, Jax. Fr. Ashby tells Jimmy that for now the baby will stay in Belfast with the Army. Although Jimmy doesn’t know Ashby’s real motivations, he follows orders and tells Jax that Hayes left Abel in Vancouver.
