Duke University alumna Karen Owen ’10 wrote a mocking senior thesis called “An education beyond the classroom: excelling in the realm of horizontal academics.” Her thesis discloses detailed information about 13 of her sexual conquests with prominent high profile athletes.
Owen emailed her Power Point presentation to three friends and had no intentions of the email ever becoming viral. Yet within hours, the Power Point presentation was all over the web on listservs and Gawker websites such as Deadspin.com and Jezebel.com.
Owen’s Power Point was designed in a case study format. She “researched” 13 subjects. The research involved sexual experiences with them. She evaluated her subjects based on their personalities, their physical traits, their sexual experience and their behavior during “research.”
She then compiled a list and ranked each of them based on their scores.
